Ink Landscapes by Wang Jiafang: Highlights from Singaporean Collections

In 2006, Wang Jiafang’s first exhibition in Singapore sold out even before it opened. Given that he was not well-known outside of China then, this was a remarkable achievement.

This reflects a distinctiveness of Singapore’s collecting scene since the 1980s—an openness to embrace Chinese ink painters who broke with tradition in pursuit of modernity. This exhibition highlights a selection of paintings acquired by local collectors who have long admired Wang’s strong brush techniques and innovative spirit.

This exhibition is curated by Low Sze Wee.
